Reviewer Guideline

Ethical Issues (Reviewers)

  • In the journal, reviewing is carried out according to the double-blind system. Authors are prevented from being acquainted with reviewers and vice versa.
  • Reviewer assignments are sent to experts who are directly associated with the article or study submitted.
  • In interdisciplinary studies, reviewer assignments are sent to different reviewers in accordance with the fields in the content of the article, and thereby, an attempt is made to preserve objectivity.
  • In the case of a difference of opinion in the reviews of the two main reviewers who are appointed, the manuscript is sent to a third substitute referee who will be appointed. The decision to publish the article or not is determined depending on the assessment of the third reviewer.
  • Deficiencies in manuscripts should be clearly stated by the reviewers in the review forms, the reasons should be well defined, and clear feedback should be given to the authors.
  • Reviewers’ criticisms and recommendations should be expressed in an appropriate style.
  • Reviewers must carry out their reviews within the time given to them. If the deadline is not met, a new reviewer is appointed by the editorial board.
  • Like the authors, the reviewers are obliged to warn the journal management when they notice a conflict of interest.
  • For journal editors, the COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors will be taken as the basis.
