Ethical Issues (Authors)

Authors who submit their studies to our journal are expected to comply with the following ethical responsibilities:

  • The copyrights of manuscripts accepted for publication in the International Journal of Ahiska Studies belong to the journal, while any legal liability regarding the contents of published manuscripts rests with the author(s).
  • Studies submitted to the journal are expected to be original. There must be no plagiarism, forgery, fabrication, inappropriate data manipulation, duplicate publication, etc. In the event that other studies of the author(s) are benefited from or used, these are required to be cited and/or quoted fully and accurately.
  • Raw data related to their articles can be requested from the author(s) during the review process. In the event that raw data are requested, the author(s) should be prepared to present the expected data and information to the editorial board.
  • The author(s) must have the right to use the data they use in the article. The author(s) must obtain permission from the necessary institutions/organisations and/or owners regarding the research (for data collection, and use of scales, questionnaires, photographs, etc. belonging to others), and must submit this when requested by the editorial board. In the event that ethics committee permission is obtained, a document showing from which institution, on which date and with which decision or issue number the permission was obtained, should be submitted if requested.
  • Researchers should carefully check the method(s) they use in the research, the data they present in their publications, their findings, and their compliance with the publication criteria of the journal.
  • Authors must accurately represent the works of others in citations. Authors must not copy references from other publications unless they have seen the work that they cite.
  • Authors must obtain permission for copyrighted materials (tables, figures, pictures, etc.) to be used in their articles from their owners.
  • In the event that the author(s) realise(s) that there is an error or inaccuracy in their published work, they must inform the journal editor or publisher without delay; they must cooperate with the editor in the case of correction or retraction.
  • Authors cannot submit their studies to more than one journal at the same time. Articles published in another journal or in another language, as well as presentations published as full text, cannot be sent to the International Journal of Ahiska Studies.
  • For a study that has been reviewed, no proposals can be made to add an author, change the order of authors, or remove an author.
  • Manuscripts submitted to the journal are scanned with the iThenticate In case of any plagiarism, manuscripts will not be accepted for publication. When violations such as plagiarism are detected in articles, this situation is reported through official channels to the institution where the article author(s) work(s), and the article is rejected.
  • In manuscripts to be written according to the publication rules of the International Journal of Ahiska Studies, the similarity rate must not exceed 3% in a single source and 20% in total, excluding the method and references sections.
